Today is officially the last day of the spring equinox, with the summer solstice starting tomorrow on June 21st. In honor and light of this I present to you Spring Incarnate. Fresh, cool colors that are just starting to find their vibrancy and saturation, hinting at the impending warmth of Summer as well as the last few remnants of Winter's darkness.

This piece took me approximately three weeks and I experimented with different techniques, over long sessions, throughout the process. The first session was 18 hours straight, which sort of set the pace. The model is none other than the deliciously deviant Paula Kaiser, who I keep wondering when I'll bump into at some event or other. This is likely not the last you'll see of her, or in fact this image. I still have a more complex composition in mind, but I feel it can hold its own as is so I decided to share it.

Timeframe: 6.1.2006 - 6.20.2006
Tools: Illustrator CS (100%)

Edit: I wanted to try a slightly different palette just for fun. The result is Twilight, in my scraps.

Thank you! Definitely one of the areas I'm proud of, particularly since eyelashes are the bane of all vector artists. I know very few who bother with them, but I felt the result would be worth the [insane] time invested. ;)

Man, what do you want me to say here? You just plain rock. Everything is perfect. And incredibly detailed. I think you're another example of an artist who has well surpassed whatever I could do.

Seriously though... That, coming from you, is a hell of a lot more than I expected. Though, you're definitely selling yourself short there. In any case I truly appreciate it. :salute:
